Eat Local Wednesday 9.25

Today our CSA portion includes lettuce, assorted squash, assorted peppers, tomatoes, Asian pears, garlic, and cooking greens.

We've got another steak salad planned for teh lettuce and tomatoes and some of the peppers.  Otherwise, who knows?

  1. Do you know what you are getting in your portion beforehand or is it almost like a surprise?!

    1. The general idea is that for 29 weeks of the year we get a portion each Wednesday. The portion is supposed to be enough for a family of 2 adults to eat a serving or 2 of fruits or vegetables every day for a week. We get what is fresh & ready to go each week so we don't know exactly what we will be getting. But, each Monday we get an email saying what to expect in our Wednesday portion. It's not always exact because they are free to change something and we don't know exactly how much of each thing we will get, etc. But the Monday email helps us when we are meal planning for the week as well so we can decide how to use our produce in our dinners throughout the week.
