Jalapeno Hushpuppies

This recipe came to me courtesy of Trisha Yearwood, with a few changes.  We love the jalapeno hush puppies at Miller's in Charlottesville so last summer we decided to try and make our own.

Ingredients
1 1/2 C corn meal
1 C flour
1 15 oz can creamed corn
2 eggs
1/2 C onions, diced
3/4 C of jalapenos, seeded and diced - about 6 large jalapenos
Canola oil for frying
Heat oil to 350 degrees.
Mix first 5 ingredients together.
Add jalapenos.
Drop by the spoonful into 350 degree oil and cook until golden brown.  We use a dutch oven for this, but if you own a deep fryer you could use that too.  Be sure not to overcrowd the fryer.
As you complete batches, place them on a baking sheet in the oven set to warm, until you are able to finish frying them all.
Serve with honey.
