5 on Friday!

We went to see Jimmy Buffett on Saturday and I shared my recipe for beergaritas! Buffett concerts are always so much fun. I would venture to say there is no better pre-concert tailgating than Jimmy Buffett. The rain held off and we didn't end up drenched like we did a few weeks ago at DMB.

Summer bowling season aka the Summer Slammers is over. Our team, Don't Stop Bowlievin' placed 6th out of 18 teams. Last night we had a little potluck with the bowling league and collected our prize money. Now we have a few weeks off until it is time for fall bowling season to start.

For someone who usually cooks at least 3-4 meals a week, I hardly did any cooking this week. Eric wasn't home Sunday or Monday nights and I had to work so I just ate Subway for dinner. Then Tuesday and Wednesday, Eric fixed dinner. Not worrying about dinner for a whole week was pretty nice, but it left me with nothing to blog about. I did make one side for the bowling potluck - Jalapeno Creamed Corn. Thanks to my Gramma I noticed that when I posted the recipe yesterday I wrote 1 stick of butter twice as if there were 2 sticks of butter in it...oops! It has been corrected this morning so check it out...

We are headed to the lake again this weekend. I always love a weekend spent at the lake. We won't be going there over Labor Day weekend as we normally do because Eric is getting his wisdom teeth pulled that Friday morning and I have to work that Saturday night.
I haven't packed anything at all but I have my weekend reading ready to go. I haven't finished last month's Garden & Gun, a new Southern Living came yesterday and Eric's dad gave me a new cookbook. The cookbook is from Mast General Store in NC and a brief glance through it promises lots of good recipes and some fun stories too! In the meantime, I need to hit the grocery store and buy food for the weekend.

I saw this video on yesterday on Facebook and I thought it was so cute. Maybe you need to be obsessed with your dog like me to enjoy it, but I just loved it.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Oh my gosh, I must have that jalapeno creamed corn. Wow! The dogs praying are adorable. Aww!
